"Foxes" lose in Krasnoyarsk

"Foxes" lose in Krasnoyarsk

Enisey broke UMMC's unbeaten streak in the first away game of the year in the Fonbet Russian Championship - Premier League with a score of 80:52.

The game started with the usual confidence of the "Foxes." In the first quarter, three-pointers by Elena Beglova and Maryia Papova, as well as a long-range shot by Alex Bentley, put the visitors ahead. UMMC's minimal lead of 23:22 seemed to suggest the usual scenario, but Enisey had other plans.

In the second quarter, the "Foxes" seemed to lose their famous aggression. The players of Olga Shuneikina took full advantage of the situation. The hosts pulled away, increasing their lead to 9 points. The "Foxes" tried to level the game, but both teams went into halftime with the Siberians leading 42:33.

After the break, the Krasnoyarsk players came out with a noticeable drive to surprise. By the third minute of the third quarter, the lead had reached 15 points. The players from Yekaterinburg only managed to score their first points in the sixth minute, and even then, most of their points came from free throws. At the end of the third quarter, the scoreboard read 64:33 in favor of Enisey.

The fourth quarter confirmed that there would be no miracle. Even though UMMC had some bright moments, a comeback was too far from reality. The final buzzer sounded with a score of 80:52.

Thus, UMMC's winning streak, which had started at the beginning of the season, was broken. Dmitrii Donskov will need to conduct a thorough analysis of mistakes, as the next game, on January 8, will be under close scrutiny from fans at home against Nadezhda (Orenburg region). The game begins at 17:00.

UMMC: Zhosselina Maiga and Megan Walker - both scored 7 points.
Enisey: Daria Levchenko, Natalia Gorbacheva - both scored 15 points, Maria Cherepanova - 13 points.
