October 31

UMMC-Junior (Yekaterinburg) - Dynamo-Farm (Kursk) 58:83

Scores by quarter: 14:25, 11:26, 16:15, 17:17

On the home court in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, the younger “Foxes” couldn’t keep up with their opponents from Dynamo-Farm, falling short with a final score of 58:83. Every player from the Kursk team scored.

In the first quarter, the visiting team started strong, jumping out to a 6-0 lead. A timeout called by Elena Kuzmina provided a brief boost for the juniors, with long-range shots from Alena Basova and Anastasia Odintsova tying the score. However, the guests responded quickly: three-pointers from Palina Kastsiukavets (who scored 9 points in just 8 minutes on the court) and Daria Morozova pushed the visitors to an 11-point lead by the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Kursk players continued to extend their lead. Four successful three-point shots from Dynamo-Farm increased the gap to 24 points. UMMC farm team mainly countered with inside attacks. The score at the end of the first half was 25:51 in favor of the blue-and-white team.

The home team notably improved in the third period, managing to win the quarter in points. Anastasia Odintsova and Miroslava Sudarikova contributed with effective shots from beyond the arc. However, two consecutive three-pointers by Viktoria Ryzhenko in the final minute erased the hosts’ efforts, ending the quarter at 41:66 before the final stretch.

In the fourth quarter, the “Foxes” didn’t have enough energy for a comeback but refused to give up. In a hard-fought battle, team captain Anastasia Odintsova and Miroslava Sudarikova spearheaded the attack, contributing 14 points. Nevertheless, the final buzzer sealed the victory of the blue-and-whites with a score of 58:83.

UMMC-Junior (Yekaterinburg) - Dynamo-Farm (Kursk) 49:66

Scores by quarter: 18:19, 8:14, 6:22, 17:11

The Yekaterinburg team was unable to take revenge for their previous loss in the Fonbet Super League game against the basketball players from Kursk, as Dynamo-Farm again secured a convincing victory with a score of 49:66.

It’s worth noting that the second encounter between the teams did not follow the script of the previous game. From the very beginning, the juniors challenged the players from Kursk. In the squad of the “Foxes”, Aleksandra Sklyarova and Alena Basova had an excellent start, both making three-point shots as well as mid-range shots. The quarter saw a back-and-forth struggle on the court, ending with a narrow advantage for the visiting team at 18:19.

The players of Elena Kuzmina noticeably loosened their grip in the second period. Scoring only 8 points in the entire quarter, they allowed Dynamo players to successfully attack from long range. The blue-and-whites took a 33-26 lead into halftime.

The situation did not change drastically in the third quarter either. Viktoria Ryzhenko and Alexandra Siyamkina, who had found their rhythm in the second period, continued attacking the hosts’ basket from beyond the arc. As a result, by the end of the quarter, the lead had grown to 23 points.

In the final period, the “Foxes” made a comeback. Aleksandra Sklyarova finally made some successful long-range shots, joined by Maria Esipova, who appeared on the court for the first time. Sofia Golubeva also continued her active play, adding a three-pointer. Unfortunately, they were unable to close the gap, and the final buzzer confirmed the second victory of the visitors with a score of 49:66.

In the squad of the “Foxes”, Sofia Golubeva stood out with a double-double (13 points, 11 rebounds), along with Aleksandra Sklyarova (12 points). In the squad of the blue-and-whites, Viktoria Ryzhenko (16 points) and Maria Grischuk (11 points) made notable contributions.

UMMC-Junior will play their next games on the road in Nevinnomyssk on November 16 and 17, where the team from Yekaterinburg will face opponents from the local club, Nevinnomyssk.
