President of the Russian Basketball Federation Kirilenko: “UMMC is the strongest team in the country, and they prove it time and again”

President of the Russian Basketball Federation (RBF), Andrei Kirilenko, stated after the Russian SuperCup that UMMC, with their victory in the tournament, once again proved their right to be called the strongest team in the country.

The players of UMMC Yekaterinburg defeated NIKA-Luzales from Syktyvkar in the Russian SuperCup game (73:69).

— The game was excellently organized. Most importantly, you could feel the warmth of the fans supporting their team. Credit to NIKA, they fought hard and played the game of their lives. But going into the game, UMMC was the stronger team. I believe they are currently the best team in our country, and they prove it time and again. I really admire the team’s management; they give serious attention to both women’s and men’s basketball. It’s a caring attitude.

UMMC has won the Russian SuperCup for the fourth consecutive time since it began in 2021.
