UMMC take down Sparta & K on the Road

On October 19, UMMC played another away game in the regular Fonbet Russian Championship - Premier League. In Vidnoje, Moscow Region, the “Foxes” faced the local club Sparta & K. The encounter ended with a confident victory for the team from Yekaterinburg.

At the start of the game, the team of Sergey Danilin tried to resist the reigning champions. However, Zhosselina Maiga and Alex Bentley made several accurate long-range shots, and the gap quickly began to grow. By the end of the first period, the difference had reached 8 points – 16:24.   

In the second quarter, the “Foxes” continued to dominate. Jovana Nogic stood out, scoring three long-range shots. The Ural team took a 35-54 lead into halftime.

In the third quarter, the home team managed to put up a competitive game. However, the segment turned out to be even. Jovana Nogic and Alex Bentley continued to be effective, hitting another three long-range shots. The score before the final part was 55:74 in favor of the team of Dmitrii Donskov.

In the last quarter, the only intrigue was whether the “Foxes” would reach 100 points. At one point, the gap reached 30 points. The final buzzer sealed the victory for UMMC – 72:103.

In the squad of UMMC, Jovana Nogic became the top scorer with 19 points and 2 rebounds. Alex Bentley scored 18 points and grabbed 3 rebounds, while Zhosselina Maiga posted a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.  

In the squad of Sparta & K, Karina Komarova stood out with 20 points and 3 rebounds. Elza Sirazutdinova added 13 points and 3 rebounds, and Svetlana Kramar had 10 points and 3 rebounds.

The “Foxes” will play their next Premier League game on October 27, where they will face Enisey from Krasnoyarsk. The game starts at 5:00 PM.
