On October 15, UMMC played another home game in the Fonbet Championship of Russia - Premier League. In Yekaterinburg, the reigning champions confidently defeated Neftyanik-Titan from Omsk.
The first quarter started off tough for both teams. The hosts scored their first points only in the 4th minute. Despite successful plays by Maiga and Bentley, who scored 2 and 3 points respectively, the Omsk team managed to level the score. However, Alex Bentley and Eva Lisec once again helped UMMC take the lead with a 7-point advantage. The quarter ended with a comfortable +14 in favor of the “Foxes” – 22:8.
In the second ten-minute period, the team of Elen Shakirova started to show signs of nervousness, confirmed by a series of turnovers. The “Foxes” took advantage of this opportunity, extending their lead to 19 points. By halftime, the scoreboard read 41:24 in favor of UMMC.
The trend continued into the third quarter. At the start of the period, Alex Bentley, who was already the top scorer at that point, kept attacking from long range. However, she wasn't the only one – Kseniia Levchenko and Zhosselina Maiga also hit three-pointers. The score was 68:32 in favor of the team of Dmitrii Donskov heading into the final period.
There were no surprises in the fourth quarter. UMMC maintained their momentum, adding another 8 points to their lead. The game ended with a convincing victory for the “Foxes” – 92:48.
In the squad of UMMC, Alex Bentley became the scoring leader with 17 points and 2 rebounds, followed by Jovana Nogic with 15 points and 2 rebounds, and Megan Walker with 14 points and 5 rebounds.
In the squad of Neftyanik-Titan, Vera Kuchina scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, while Svetlana Tokhtash contributed 10 points and 2 rebounds.
