The UMMC basketball players continued their campaign at the traditional preseason President's Cup of the Samara Region Basketball Federation. Their second opponent was Nadezhda from the Orenburg region.

In the first quarter, after an equal fight, the Orenburg team started to pull ahead with a 6-point lead. A timely timeout from the coaching staff of the “Foxes” changed the course of the game. By the end of the ten-minute period, the team of Dmitrii Donskov not only caught up with their opponents but also gained a minimal advantage - 18:19.
The second quarter saw the “Foxes” gain momentum, and by halftime, they had built a 16-point lead. Nadezhda only began to score their first points in the 6th minute. By halftime, the outcome of the game was hardly in doubt – 25:48 in favor of the players from Yekaterinburg.
UMMC maintained its dominance throughout the second half of the game. Increasing the lead to 30 points in the third quarter, the “Foxes” extended the score to a crushing 49:85 in the final period.
In the squad of UMMC, the highest-scoring player was Maria Klyundikova who logged double-double with 18 points, 13 rebounds and 1 assist. Maryia Papova added 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists. Olairi Kosu and Jovana Nogic each had 10 points, 5 and 1 rebound respectively.
In the squad of Nadezhda, Elizaveta Komarova was the scoring leader with 9 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists. Unique Thompson, Ksenia Afanasenko and Maryia Kryzhanouskaya contributed 7 points apiece.
The final game of the tournament for UMMC will take place tomorrow, on September 25. The “Foxes” will face off against the home team Samara. The game starts at 8:00 PM Yekaterinburg time.
