UMMC is 17-time Russian Champion!

On April 29, the decisive game of the Fonbet Russian Premier League Championship took place. On the court of the Luzales Arena in Syktyvkar, UMMC faced off against the local team Nika-Luzales. The "Foxes" confidently defeated their opponents from Komi and once again won the title of Russian champions.

The Yekaterinburg team took the lead from the start. There was no need for the top scorers to warm up - three-pointers from Alex Bentley and Maryia Papova hit the mark, and the advantage of UMMC became +6. However, by the end of the stretch, this lead had increased to double digits – the score was 26:16 in favor of the "Foxes".   

In the second quarter, UMMC also dominated on the court. Three successful drives to the basket by Olairi Kosu looked great. Maryia Papova extended the lead of Dmitrii Donskov's team to double digits with a successful long-range shot - 24:45. One minute before the end of the period, Alex Bentley scored from behind the arc, and Zhosselina Maiga finished the part with an accurate mid-range shot, making it 34:57 in favor of UMMC before the halftime break.  

The third quarter of the game turned out to be competitive. The hosts attempted to reduce the gap, but it can hardly be called successful. The difference remained comfortable before the final part - 55:72 in favor of UMMC players.

There was a hint of intrigue in the final quarter – the lead of UMMC was reduced to 13 points. Victoria Macaulay added 7 points to the tally, and Kseniia Levchenko seized her chance and accurately attacked the opponents' basket from beyond the arc in the final minutes. The final buzzer sealed a confident victory of UMMC with a score of 73:87. Thus, the "Foxes" became 17-time champions of Russia.  
 
In the squad of UMMC, Alexandria Bentley became the top scorer with 15 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Maryia Papova contributed 14 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Victoria Macaulay collected 14 points and 2 rebounds. Zhosselina Maiga had 13 points and 5 rebounds.

In the squad of NIKA, Raisa Musina became the scoring leader with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Eva Lisec finished the game with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Veronika Pavliuchenko scored 11 points and handed out 2 assists.

Alex Bentley was named the MVP of the Fonbet Russian Championship playoffs. Zhosselina Maiga made it into the symbolic five of the Fonbet Russian Championship playoffs.
