UMMC-Junior lose to Spartak in the semifinal series

The decisive game for a spot in the final took place for UMMC-Junior in the Russian Super League. On April 23, the youth team of the "Foxes" hosted Spartak St. Petersburg for the second time at their home arena in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. The game ended in a defeat for Tatyana Fefilova's team. UMMC-Junior will now compete for bronze in the Fonbet Russian Championship.

In the next stretch, the St. Petersburg team proved to be stronger. The hosts continued to score only from mid-range. The opponents went for the halftime break with a score of 30:36 in favor of the guests.

The second half of the game was intense. From the start of the third quarter, Spartak began to increase their lead. However, the juniors managed to narrow the gap and almost level the score - 43:44 in favor of the visiting team before the final part. The hosts lacked strength and momentum to take the last quarter - UMMC-Junior lost to the team from St. Petersburg with a score of 53:63 and will continue to fight for the 3rd place in the championship.

In the squad of UMMC-Junior, Polina Kuznetsova became the top-scorer with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Margarita Kuziakina added 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds; Nina Ulchenkova finished the game with 8 points and 5 rebounds.

In the squad of Spartak, Svetlana Kramar became the scoring leader who logged a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Marina Balueva had 13 points and 4 rebounds. Tatyana Soloveva accumulated 11 points and 9 rebounds.
