Juniors start playoffs with victory over MBA-2

The playoffs of the Russian Super League Fonbet Championship have started. On April 3, as part of the quarterfinals, UMMC-Junior faced MBA-2 from Moscow. The Yekaterinburg team claimed victory.

Quarters’ results: 12:11, 17:17, 20:13, 19:18

MBA-2 opened the scoring. Then there was an equal fight on the court. The Moscow players chose a tactic of aggressive defense, but it did not affect the situation - the hosts won the quarter with a score of 12:11.

At the start of the second period, the Moscow team took a 6-point lead. However, the juniors managed to catch up - a three-pointer from Elizaveta Kolotovkina and mid-range shots from Daria Sidorova and Margarita Kuziakina allowed the hosts to finish the second stretch with a minimal lead - 29:28.

The third quarter continued in a similar rhythm. Midway through the playing time, the Ural athletes surged ahead. An accurate long-range shot from Polina Kuznetsova and successful mid-range shots from Margarita Kuziakina made it possible. Extending the lead to comfortable 8 points, UGMK-Junior also won this part - 49:41 before the final stretch.

There was no intrigue in the last quarter. Coming out to the court with an advantage, the “Foxes” did not give up the victory. The accurate three-pointers from Daria Sharova and Margarita Kuziakina are worthy of note. The first playoff game ended with a confident win for Tatyana Fefilova's team with a score of 68:59.
