Victory over Nadezhda in Yekaterinburg

The UMMC basketball team played another regular season game in the Russian Premier League championship. In Yekaterinburg at DIVS Arena, the hosts claimed a victory over Nadezhda from the Orenburg region.

It is worth noting that the previous meeting of the teams in the framework of the Fonbet Russian Championship took place in Orenburg and ended with a win for Nadezhda with a score of 70:66.

The first half of the opening quarter was closely contested, but from the middle, thanks to two accurate three-pointers from Alex Bentley and two more shots from beyond the arc by Kseniia Levchenko and Viktoriia Zavialova, the hosts began to pull ahead. The period ended with a score of 27:18 in favor of the “Foxes”.

In the second quarter, the Orenburg team fought harder and even managed to win a local victory cutting the deficit to 6 points. Nevertheless, the team of Dmitrii Donskov was ahead. The athletes went for the halftime break with a score of 44:38.

The third quarter also turned out to be tough. The visiting team managed to close the gap to within one long-range shot distance, but the UMMC players rallied in time and regained the lost advantage, resulting in a score of 61:54 in favor of the Yekaterinburg team before the final part.

In the fourth quarter, UMMC completely controlled the course of events on the court and confidently brought the game to victory with a score of 82:65.

-          I'm glad that we won. Towards the end of the third round, we have the most important opponents left in the top four of the championship. It was important to play well to prepare for the next games. Many of the aspects we worked on turned out well. I am satisfied with the result.

In the squad of the “Foxes”, Tina Krajisnik finished with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds. Kseniia Levchenko scored the same number of points. Olairi Kosu added 15 points and 7 rebounds. Viktoriia Zavialova collected 11 points and 2 assists.

In the squad of Nadezhda, Daria Namok became the scoring leader with 18 points, followed by Ashley Beverly who accumulated 17 points and 2 rebounds. Svetlana Tokhtash had 14 points and 3 rebounds.

UMMC will play the next game in the championship on the road. On March 23, in Moscow, Dmitrii Donskov's team will face MBA. The broadcast starts at 6:30 p.m. (Yekaterinburg time).
