The second round of the Fonbet Russian Super League Championship started. On March 19, at the home Arena in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, UMMC-Junior hosted Runa from Moscow. The game was tough, and the winner was determined in overtime.

The second period turned out to be tough. By the middle of the quarter, the younger “Foxes” surged ahead. They reached the maximum 7-point lead, however, by halftime, the advantage of the home team had been reduced to +4 points, and the score was 27:23.
The third quarter continued in a similar vein. Two successful three-pointers by Polina Kuznetsova and Margarita Kuziakina increased the advantage to 7 points. Before the final part, the scoreboard showed 42:34 in favor of the hosts.
At the start of the fourth quarter, Runa players made a run, first leveling the score, and then taking a small three-point advantage. The intrigue of the tied score remained until the end of the game. As a result - overtime with a score of 53:53. Extra time determined the leader - a victory for Runa with a score of 59:62.
In the squad of UMMC-Junior, Polina Kuznetsova logged a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Elizaveta Kolotovkina added 12 points and 5 rebounds. Nina Ulchenkova had 10 points and 2 assists.
In the squad of Runa, Eleonora Oleynikova accumulated 14 points and 9 rebounds. Kristina Bakaeva reached a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Daria Prosolupova and Anastasia Rozova scored 10 points apiece.
