UMMC basketball players played another game in the regular season of the Russian Premier League. At DIVS Arena in Yekaterinburg, the “Foxes” defeated NIKA-Luzales from Syktyvkar.

The first period turned out to be key for identifying the leader. The home team completely dominated on the court, crushing any attempts of resistance. Two minutes later, the advantage became two-digit. 4 successful three-pointers from Alex Bentley and two accurate shots from behind the arc by Anastasiia Shilova are worthy of note. By the break, UMMC was 25 points ahead - 35:10.
In the second quarter, the nature of the game didn’t change. Several accurate three-pointers from Alex Bentley, Anastasiia Shilova and Megan Walker extended the lead; the score was 56:22 in favour of the “Foxes” before the halftime.
The third period in terms of points turned out to be more competitive, however, the defending champions kept a serious lead, not allowing the visiting team to get closer in the score. Before the final quarter, the question about the winner was settled - 70:34 in favour of the Yekaterinburg team.
The final intrigue of the game was whether the hosts would be able to surpass the 100-point milestone. One accurate shot was lacking for the “hundred” – the final buzzer sealed the victory of the “Foxes” with a score of 98:45.

- We had a great motivation before the game; we were in a fighting mood and followed all the coach's instructions. We played well both in defense and offence. From the very first attacks there were successful long-range shots - this mentally crushes the opponent. We did a good job today.
In the squad of UMMC, Alexandria Bentley scored 17 points. Olairi Kosu logged a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Anastasiia Shilova added 13 points. Zhosselina Maiga and Victoria Macaulay earned 11 points apiece.
In the squad of NIKA-Luzales, Raisa Musina finished with 13 points. Chantay Holmes had 12 points, Polina Fedorova and Natallia Harbachova harvested 5 points apiece.
UMMC will play the next game on the road. On March 7, in Krasnoyarsk, the team of Dmitrii Donskov will face the local Enisey. The live broadcast starts at 4:00 p.m. (Yekaterinburg time).
