Mayor of Yekaterinburg Congratulates BC UMMC on Victory in the Russian Cup
On February 16, the head of Yekaterinburg Alexey Orlov met with the players of the basketball club UMMC. At the solemn ceremony, the mayor of the capital of the Urals congratulated the athletes, coaching staff and club management on their victory in the Fonbet Russian Cup. Let us remind you that the final of the tournament was held at the end of January in Yekaterinburg. The “Foxes” won the title for the 11th time, beating their opponents from Dynamo (Kursk).
“The high level of skill demonstrated by the athletes in every game and the professionalism of the coaching staff allowed the team to reach the decisive stage of the tournament and made the Cup final unforgettable - the team's fans experienced the whole range of emotions. The final of the Russian Basketball Cup became a huge gift for the fans and residents of Yekaterinburg”, Alexey Valerievich said.
As part of the event, Alexey Orlov presented the athletes and their coaches with letters of gratitude from the head of Yekaterinburg. The basketball players, in their turn, expressed their gratitude for the warm reception, support and attention given to them by the City Administration.
“Thanks for your support! Our presence here is motivation for further victories. I believe that together we can promote sports and the ideas of a healthy lifestyle among children and youth”, - said the team captain Anastasiia Shilova.
