UMMC-Junior wins in Kazan

The UMMC-Junior team completed its away tour with a victory in Kazan.

The players of Tatyana Fefilova played consistently well the first half of the encounter, scoring 18 points in every quarter. Moreover, before halftime, long-range hits became a good help for the “Foxes”. They managed to implement 5 out of 8 attempts. The home team failed to succeed in this aspect of the game: only one long-range shot was successful.

The second half of the encounter started with a competitive but not very productive struggle. This fact did not prevent our team from breaking away from the opponent by a double-digit advantage – 46:36, but Kazanochka won the end of the third ten-minute period. And after an equal quarter (10:10), the teams started the final quarter with a 7-point difference in the first half in favor of UMMC-Junior - 46:39.

Already at the start of the final quarter, the youth team of UMMC brought its advantage to 15 points, making a breakthrough - 9:1 (55:40), and then increased the maximum gap in the score to 17 points - 64:47. At the end of the quarter, the team of Ekaterina Vasileva made an attempt to save the game, but all they managed to do was to slightly reduce the difference, and UMMC-Junior came back home with a victory of 64:51.

Polina Kuznetsova, forward of the UMMC-Junior team, became the top-scorer of the encounter, she reached a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds. Daria Sharova added 8 points to the team’s score and Nina Ulchenkova came up with 8 points and 5 assists.

UMMC-Junior will play the next game on October 11 on the main court of Sports Palace of UMMC, meeting with guests from Kursk. The game starts at 17:00. Admission is free.
