We lose in the first game of the President’s Cup of the Basketball Federation of Samara region

The players of Dmitrii Donskov missed the winning move at the end of the starting match of the President’s Cup of the Samara region Basketball Federation and they lost to “Nika” from Syktyvkar.

The first match of the pre-season tournament in Samara turned out to be quite tough. Throughout three quarters the teams demonstrated an equal game. And only during the fourth ten-minute period did UMMC manage to break away from the opponent by 7 points (57:50), but, unfortunately, Dmitrii Donskov’s team failed to extend or maintain their advantage. A series of the “Foxes”’ mistakes in the last minutes allowed the opponents to turn the tide of the game and win in the end – 64:61.

The highest-scoring players of the match in the squad of our team were Albina Razheva (12 points and 5 rebounds), Anastasiia Shilova (11 points), Viktoriia Zavialova (10 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists). Anastasia Olairi Kosu and Zhosselina Maiga each added 7 points to the team’s score.

In the opposing team Marie Alice Benson collected 20 points.

Tomorrow UMMC will play against “Nadezhda” from Orenburg. The game starts at 17:00 (local time in Yekaterinburg).
