UMMC started the EuroLeague second group round with a comfortable success at Wisla Can-Pack

In the first match of the EuroLeague Women second group round action UMMC without any doubts knocked out in Krakow local Wisla Can-Pack.

The Foxes gradually increased the score superiority with every next period. The first quarter seemed promising a true competition. However, in the second period Olaf Lange’s team reinforced its positions in defense as well as turned on the offense and as a result collected a comfortable 21 point cushion – 36:15.

In the second half UMMC was leading the show and there were no doubts about who was in charge on court. In the last quarter, the «orange» team stretched its score advantage as much as 30 points - 63:33. As a result, the opponent was taken down and the final buzzer confirmed the fourth consecutive win by Ekaterinburg - 49:74.

UMMC center Brittney Griner netted a game-high 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks. Alba Torrens posted a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds, while Emma Meesseman added 12 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds.

Tamara Radocaj scored 15 points for Wisla Can-Pack, while Leonor Rodrigue added 14 more points to the home side.

After eight games, UMMC ranks second in the Group B standings with 6 wins on its record.

UMMC is having the next EuroLeague Women match on December 20 in Ekaterinburg against Spanish Avenida. The match will be played at DIVS Sport Arena at 19.00. Earlier on December 17 the Foxes are having the next Russian Premier-League on the road game in Kursk.
