Three UMMC payers called up to national teams

Eva Lisec and Jovana Nogic have been selected to represent their countries in the Qualifiers for Women’s EuroBasket 2027, while Maryia Papova has joined the Belarus national team for the Khalipsky Cup.   

During the Russian Championship break, three UMMC Yekaterinburg players received call-ups to their national teams. Jovana Nogic and Eva Lisec will participate in the Women’s EuroBasket 2027 Qualifiers, and Maryia Papova has been invited to join Belarus for a training camp.

Lisec will represent Slovenia in the EuroBasket 2027 qualifying games. Her team competes in subgroup B. On March 11, the Slovenian squad will face Latvia, followed by a game against Estonia on March 14, and then a game versus the Netherlands on March 17. Nogic, playing with the Serbian national team, is part of subgroup G. The Serbian squad will kick off their campaign on March 11 against Iceland, and on March 14, they will take on Portugal.

Another UMMC basketball player, Maryia Papova, is currently with the Belarus national team. The squad will participate in the Khalipsky Cup, where they will play several friendly games.

The Belarusian team’s game schedule at the tournament is as follows: March 13 — Belarus vs. Kazakhstan; March 14 — Dynamo (Moscow) vs. Belarus; March 15 — Belarus vs. Russia.

The international break will give UMMC players an opportunity to prove themselves at the national team level, after which the basketball players will return to the club to continue the season’s playoffs. On March 21, in Yekaterinburg, as part of the quarterfinals of the Fonbet Russian Championship, the Foxes will face Enisey Krasnoyarsk. The game starts at 5:00 PM.
