“The Foxes” crushed MBA-MGUSiT and finished first in the regular FONBET Russian Championship. Alex Bentley has once again been named MVP this season.

Scores by quarter: 26-5, 30-9, 16-18, 26-18

The game began with a trade of three-pointers between Alex Bentley and Evgeniia Frolkina, but that marked the end of the close contest. The Yekaterinburg team immediately raised the tempo, establishing a double-digit lead. The Moscow team seemed lost, and after Bentley’s second long-range shot, Alexander Diratsuyan called a timeout, but it failed to change the course of the game. Over the entire segment, the visitors scored only 5 points, while the “Foxes” confidently led 26-5 by the first break.

In the second quarter, the situation did not change – the hosts continued to dictate their terms. The Moscow team tried to impose a fight and began to find opportunities for attacks, but UMMC controlled the game on both ends of the court. The score gap kept growing, and the teams went into halftime with a dominant score of 56-14.

After the break, the “orange” squad slightly reduced their intensity, while the visitors came out with the intention to put up a fight. Frolkina and Bocharova started attacking from long range, and Yakovleva aggressively drove to the basket, but the home team responded with accurate drives from Klyundikova. This period turned out to be the most competitive 16-18, but UMMC confidently maintained the score difference 72-32.

The final quarter went by without any intrigue. The Yekaterinburg team calmly brought the game to victory, experimenting with various sets and working on their plays. The Moscow team tried to close the gap until the end, but they lacked the energy for a comeback. The final score was 98-50, and UMMC officially finished in first place in the regular season, with Alex Bentley being named MVP of the season.

UMMC: Klyundikova, Walker, and Maiga – all with 14 points. Bentley and Nogic – both with 13.

MBA-MGUSiT: Frolkina – 9 points, Yakovleva – 8.

The “Foxes” will play their next game in the quarterfinals of the Fonbet Russian Championship at home against Sparta & K from Vidnoje. The game is scheduled for March 28 at 19:00 at DIVS Arena.
