In the Final of the Fonbet Russian Championship – Premier League, the Yekaterinburg team edged out Dynamo Kursk in Game 4 (84–81), sealing the series 3–1. The Foxes secured their 19th national title, reaffirming their status as the dominant force in Russian women’s basketball. The finish was dramatic, a fitting end to a championship showdown.

Quarter scores: 24-22, 20-21, 25-22, 12-19

The game opened at a slow, tense pace, with nearly two minutes passing before either side got on the board, as both teams struggled to find rhythm early. Dmitrii Donskov’s squad went to their half-court sets, but early foul trouble for Maria Klyundikova disrupted the visitors’ flow. Kursk leaned on drives to the rim and scoring in the paint, while the Foxes looked to generate opportunities in transition while pushing the tempo. By the middle of the quarter, the reigning champions began to settle in offensively and briefly moved ahead, but the closing stretch belonged to the home team, who took the first period 24–22.

The second quarter saw a three-point exchange as the tempo increased significantly. Megan Walker started the period with a precise three-pointer, but Frolkina immediately answered with a hot stretch from beyond the arc, knocking down three shots from deep and punishing UMMC’s defense. Despite that, Olairi Kosu began to control the glass, cleaning up on the offensive boards and providing key second-chance points. UMMC built a seven-point cushion, but the hosts closed the gap in the final minutes of the half, taking a 44–43 lead.

The third quarter turned into a real basketball thriller. Sazonova caught fire from the perimeter for Kursk, putting constant pressure on the visitors’ defense. With three minutes left in the period, Dynamo stretched the lead to seven, and it looked like momentum had fully swung to Alexander Kovalev’s team. But the Foxes responded with composure, as Walker and Karina Nizamova each connected from three-point range to bring the game back within striking distance. Still, heading into the fourth quarter, the home team kept their advantage — 69–65.

The final quarter was pure drama, with every possession feeling decisive. UMMC spent most of the period chasing the game, while Frolkina continued to hit crucial baskets to hold the lead. With two minutes remaining, Jovana Nogic leveled the score, then Olairi Kosu calmly converted a key possession to put the visitors back ahead. In the closing moments, the Foxes locked in defensively, protecting the paint and denying Kursk open looks on the final possessions to secure an 84–81 win.

Olairi Kosu (16 points) was the standout performer of the night and was named MVP of the Fonbet Playoffs, while Maria Klyundikova was included in the All-Tournament Team. For Dynamo, Frolkina led the way with 17 points, Linskens recorded a double-double (14+10), and Sazonova and Repnikova also made key contributions. After the final buzzer, the champions were congratulated by Russian Basketball Federation president Andrei Kirilenko, while Dmitrii Donskov was named Coach of the Season.
