“Foxes” dominate Dynamo Moscow in first home game
UMMC kicked off the home season of the FONBET Russian Championship – Premier League with a decisive 95-49 win, leaving no chance for Dynamo Moscow.
Quarter scores: 33–15, 16–10, 18–9, 28–15
The first quarter turned into a true three-point showcase for UMMC. Alex Bentley opened the scoring with an accurate shot from beyond the arc, and repeated it just a minute later - 6-0. Tretyakova and Papova picked up the momentum, and just four minutes in, the scoreboard showed an impressive 16-0. Vladimir Shtam’s timeout failed to turn things around for his team — Dynamo managed to score only by the fifth minute. The home team kept firing from long range, with Jovana Nogic adding another three-pointer to secure a comfortable 33-15 lead by the end of the first ten minutes.
In the second quarter, the reigning champions kept playing their game. Nogic hit two more from deep, while Karina Nizamova calmly added another accurate shot. The visitors tried to find their rhythm, but it was all in vain. They managed to score just 9 points in the entire quarter. Center Eva Lisec finished one attack with a spectacular three-pointer, and a fast break by Megan Walker extended the lead to a commanding margin. The teams went into halftime with the score at 49-25.
After the break, the Dynamo players tried to rally: Anna Kuznetsova’s three-pointer sparked hope for a comeback. But UMMC responded immediately — Megan Walker hit an accurate shot from beyond the arc. The lead soon exceeded thirty points, and the scoreboard showed 67-34.
The final quarter became a mere formality. The Moscow team still fought back — Marchenkova made a three-pointer, and Pozdnyakova scored repeatedly around the rim — but the “Foxes” confidently closed out the game. Nogic and Bentley were once again flawless from the perimeter, and the final buzzer confirmed UMMC’s convincing 95-49 victory.
