UMMC Yekaterinburg continue to add to their trophy collection. The reigning champions claimed their sixth consecutive Russian Super Cup title in Kursk, defeating the hosts, Dynamo Kursk, 77–66.

Quarter scores: 12–25, 18–18, 25–15, 11–19

From the first possessions, the visitors made it clear they had come to Kursk for the trophy. The Foxes got on the board first and gradually took control, with Sazonova’s three-pointer standing out as one of the early highlights. Both teams then went cold for several minutes, and scoring slowed considerably. Tretyakova tied it up with a three, and UMMC soon shifted into gear and built an eight-point lead. Alexander Kovalev’s timeout did little to change the course of the game, and UMMC took the first quarter 25–12.

Dmitrii Donskov’s squad continued to widen the gap in the second quarter. Nizamova opened the period with a shot from long range, and Dynamo Kursk soon found themselves trailing by double digits. Shilova added another three, but the hosts had no intention of giving up. Repnikova immediately answered from beyond the arc, showing that the game was far from over. Still, the reigning champions responded every time Dynamo scored, preventing the hosts from mounting a comeback. UMMC went into halftime with a 43–30 advantage.

After the break, Dynamo Kursk came out with much more intensity and began fighting for every possession. Klyundikova was effective in the paint for UMMC, but the hosts gradually chipped away at the deficit, with Beverly finding success both from midrange and beyond the arc. When Linskens knocked down a three to bring Dynamo within six, Donskov quickly called a timeout. Klyundikova connected from deep, Linskens struck again from beyond the arc, and Zvereva added another three in the closing seconds to make it a real contest. UMMC’s advantage was down to just three points heading into the fourth quarter, 58–55.

The final stretch was a tense one. With five minutes left on the clock, the Foxes held a slim one-point lead, and the hosts were on the verge of turning the game around. But this was when the champions showed their true character: Tretyakova hit a three to restore UMMC’s five-point cushion and halt Dynamo’s momentum. Yekaterinburg regained control, tightened up defensively, and pushed the margin back into double digits. Tretyakova had the final say, capping off the win with a spectacular three-pointer that put any doubts about the outcome to rest. UMMC prevailed 77–66 to claim another Russian Super Cup title!
