UMMC Yekaterinburg celebrated Christmas with a basketball triumph, defeating Dynamo (Novosibirsk Region) 112–69 in a Fonbet Russian Championship – Premier League game.

Quarter scores: 33-16, 35-16, 28-20, 16-17

The Foxes kicked off their first game of the year without Maria Klyundikova, yet the team stayed in rhythm despite the absence of one of their key players. The opening quarter was calm but UMMC’s sharp shooting put the visitors under pressure. Shilova and Bentley opened the scoring with long-range shots, and overall Yekaterinburg caught fire from beyond the arc. By the middle of the period, the lead had grown to 11 points, and a burst from Karina Nizamova – who scored 11 points in just three minutes – secured a commanding 33–16 first quarter.

In the second quarter, Dmitrii Donskov’s team turned the game into an offensive clinic. Jovana Nogic sparked the run with four consecutive three-pointers, a shooting streak that dealt a psychological blow to the Siberian side. Dynamo attempted to stay competitive, but each successful possession was quickly met with a response from UMMC. In the final seconds of the half, Malakhova and Bentley traded shots from beyond the arc, with Yekaterinburg going into halftime with a dominant 68–32 lead.

After the break, Andrey Andrushchenko’s team came out more focused and tried to fight back. However, any hopes from Dynamo quickly faded — Nogic kept piling on the points (she already had 21 by that stage), while Nizamova once again made her presence felt with precise three-pointers. Yekaterinburg confidently controlled the pace, pushing the fast break and punishing every defensive mistake. By the start of the fourth quarter, the scoreboard read 96–52 in favor of the Foxes.

In the final stretch, the Foxes eased off slightly, allowing the visitors to take the quarter by a narrow 17–16 margin. Nevertheless, Olairi Kosu scored the 100th point of the game in the third minute, cementing the triumphant evening. The final score was 112–69, a comprehensive and emotional victory for the hosts in their first game of 2026. UMMC will play their next game on January 11 in Vidnoje against Sparta&K, with the tip-off scheduled at 16:00 (MSK).
