30.01.19 | Foxes were defeated on the road, but kept their positions

In the 11th game of the EuroLeague group round Miguel Mendez’s team was outplayed on the road competing against local USK in Prague.

In the very beginning, the opponents were riding up and down the roller coaster, however by the time of the interval an acting Champion built a minimal advantage. However, Foxes were not able to develop the success. By the end of the second quarter, the hosts captured the initiative, outpaced the guests and drove forward – 44:41.

After the break, USK continued to press hard and broke into another rapid run thus widening the gulf to 15 points by the end of the third quarter – 63:48. The hosts were on fire; Natalia Hejkova team was leading the show and did not allow the game to slip out their hands all the way to the end. The only thing the guests were able to do was to shorten the score gap to minimum of 9 points. The game was over with the hosts celebrating 82:73 win.

Brittney Griner finished with top result for UMMC – 21 points. Emma Meesseman gathered 18 points. The opponents answered with near triple-double of 22 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists from Alyssa Thomas.

After 11 rounds of the EuroLeague campaign UMMC still tops Group A standing and earlier in the previous game Foxes in advance have already punched their tickets to the Play-offs.

The next EuroLeague game will be played on February 6 in Ekaterinburg with UMMC facing French Bourges Basket. The match starts at 19.00.
