The starting quarter turned into the most crucial game moment when UMMC outpaced the opponent with triple advantage – 30:11. This gap turned into a serious blow for the home side. BLMA were taken down and could not recover in order to alter the game course.
By the time of the second period UMMC, coach had an opportunity to enact all players enlisted for the match. Fresh forces let the team to widen the score gap by 21 points – 56:35.
In the first half only young point guard Victoria Zavialova was sitting on the bench, however after the interval break she got a chance to make her contribution. On court, she helped the team to come up with a collective steal and later added few points and assists on her personal record (4 points, 2 assists, 2 steals).
Miquel Mendez’s squad demonstrated good team effort and internal interaction forcing the opponent to make mistakes. BLMA suffered 23 turnovers and most of the losses happened in perimeter under the UMMC’s board when the opponents got stuck in our defense like in the spider’s web. The French side adjusted its tactics and scored the bulk of points shooting from downtown and realizing free throws from the penalty line.
UMMC was dominating on court and it caused no doubts. The Foxes gradually increased the supremacy depriving the opponent of any possibility to win in any of game components.
UMMC’s front line was playing solo leading the offense. Emma Meesseman scored top 25 points, 4 rebounds, 2 stelas and block-shot. Brittney Griner added 16 points, while Raisa Musina came up with 14 points, 6 rebounds and made 3 effective assists.
Evgenia Belyakova and Alba Torrens made a notable contribution to game outcome. Evgenia collected 12 points after effective 4 of 4 downtown shots and added 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Alba Torrens increased the game statistics by adding 10 points and 7 assists.
The only intrigue that appeared in the end was whether our team would be able to once again score one hundred points per match. Once again, like in game one against BLMA Raisa Musina scored the last 100th point from the foul line and sealed the game result – 100:61.
We remind that in the first stage of the EuroLeague group round Foxes competing at DIVS Arena defeated the opponents from France with double score advantage – 100:46.
BLMA answered with double-figures by Courtney Hurt – 24 points, Romane Bernies – 13 points and Romy Bar – 12 points.
After EuroLeague group round UMMC gathered 11 wins and finished the group stage on the second position in Group B. So far, Foxes moved on to the EuroLeague Quarter-Final play-off series and going to meet Group A third-place winner.
