28.01.18 | UMMC made a statement in Kazan

In the fourteenth round of Russian Premier-League in Kazan acting Champion confidently eased past local Kazanochka.

Foxes kicked-off on a high note and by the end of the first quarter came up with 7-point advantage – 20:13.

The second quarter turned into the breaking point of the match when UMMC broke into a powerful run - 22:2. It was only the beginning. The maximum score difference reached its highest point when the hosts fell 25 points behind – 40:15. The teams left the court for the interval break with - 18:42 on the scoreboard.

In fact the job was done. However, the hosts could not eat a humble pie and in the third period it seemed like they came back on court and were ready to give a true battle- 18:11. However, it was only a moment of inspiration. The reigning Champion was quick to restore its dominating position on court and as a result ended the game celebrating one more confident win - 76:53.

Brittney Griner was leading the show and collected 15 points and 5 rebounds, followed by Evgenia Belyakova who made 4 triples and collected 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Elena Beglova added 10 points and 4 steals, while Emma Meesseman gathered 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals.

The opponent answered with double digits from Eveniya Finogentova (11 points) and Merritt Hempe (10 points).

Next, Foxes are having the last game of the EuroLeague Women group round on January 31 in France against local BLMA.
