Fenerbahche (Turkey) –UMMC (Russia) 80:77
Quarters’ results: 18-19, 24-19, 14-17, 24-22

The guests gave the match a hot start. Straight from the beginning UMMC broke away leaving the hosts behind. However, in the second quarter Fırat Okul’s squad inspired by Ana Dabovic and Kelsey Plum’s downtown shooting were able to capture the leadership and both teams left the court for the half-time break with 42:38 on the scoreboard.

After the break, Fenerbahche was not strong enough to retain its supremacy. Olga Arteshina was first to drop down the opponents’ side a triple bomb and evened up the figures - 47:47. Neither side was going to give up. However, that night in a furious battle on court, the hosts were a little bit more precise and the game outcome was decided in thrilling ending.

With 1.45 to play UMMC was 3 points ahead -72:69. However, within one minute Fenerbahche turned the game upside down and came up with crucial run thus gaining the same 3-point score advantage - 75:72.With 7 seconds to play Kristi Toliver seemed to get the job done after pouring a triple down the home side hoop - 78:77. However in the remaining time a series of tactical fouls pushed the scales down the home side and once again one the last game seconds the sports luck turned away from Olaf Lange’s team to smile at our opponents from Turkey - 80:77.

Brittney Griner dropped game high 26 points, collected 5 rebounds and made 3 blocks for UMMC.

Few players gathered double-digits: Emma Meesseman ended the game with 15 points, Kristi Toliver scored 13 points and 8 assists, while Alba Torrens missed one rebound to complete a doble-double of 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Performing for Fenerbahche Kelsey Plum fired in 24 points, while Aerial Powers harvested double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds.

UMMC Head Coach Olaf Lange:

- Congratulations to Fenerbahche, tonight they were the best team. Our defense was not strong enough to win in such a tough competition.

UMMC guard Kristi Toliver:

- Fenerbahche did a good job and deserved to win tonight. I am sure that we will be better and stronger in April and it is our primary goal for the season. We will keep on learning on our mistakes, grow in a professional way and improve our competitiveness. Look forward to see them once again in April.

Foxes are having the next EuroLeague Women group round game on January 17 in Ekaterinburg facing Nadezhda from Orenburg.
